The Celtics now have two future Hall of Fame members and two members of the high fiving white guy Hall of Fame. People don't get too excited about the Celtics bench, but I can't wait to see Scal and Pollard in action (or would that be "inaction") this year.
When the Celtics last made noise in the playoffs, we had Eric Williams, Eric Strickland, and a bench full of other rotation guys who could take charges, find the open man, knock down ten foot wide open shots and not give up that much of a lead. Having a quality bench is a pretty important thing, but give me a couple of goofy, tall high-fiving white guys at the end of the bench any day.
While I call them high-fiving white guys, I would include the Immortal Kevin Duckworth and the immortal M.L. Carr in the high-fiving white guy Hall of Fame. It's more a state of mind than anything else. Slow, goofy, excitable and always looking for a reason to pump their fists, it's going to be an awesome season to watch.
