I have no job.

Life is good as I search for the perfect job. On Monday, I spent five hours in a career search office looking at thousands of jobs. I saw two that I kind of liked and heard from a few people looking to interview me for various positions with one offer of "up to 120,000 dollars a year." With commission I'm assuming.

I'm looking for another job that lets me help people and makes me feel empowered, not desperate. I have about two more weeks until I feel I need to take some interviews, and don't really want to make a ton of money at my job. I know that sounds un-American, but I can't take a job that would require me to be miserable. I have worked for at least the last fifteen years, and hated two jobs out of about a dozen. (Listen to me on my high horse)

Working on the house has been a good time, so has teaching, the jobs just didn't come up after my old school was down-sized. I did get a couple of interview requests from financial companies, but that is how I came to be a teacher (can't sit in a cube all day).

Unemployment is offering to retrain me for a job that I like, but what can I get trained for and hired for in a year? Most of the really cool jobs required at least two years experience (video game football designer included). I will try to update the search as it progresses.

________

Update, just saw a dream job working with old friends. More to follow.
